Cases of pickpocketing seems to be on the rise in Delhi Metro trains

More than 450 per cent has been registered in cases of pickpocketing in Delhi Metro trains in 2013 as compared to previous years. According to the report, 653 cases of pickpocketing were reported in Delhi Metro in 2013 as against 141 and 133 cases in 2012 and 2011, respectively. To deter people from committing suicide in the metro, the Delhi Police have decided to register attempt to suicide cases against those who try to end their lives at stations. According to the report, In the past two years, over 100 people have attempted suicide at different metro stations across Delhi and NCR, of which about 30 died while the rest were saved or survived.
