The CVC report, likely to be made public at the end of this month, may create more trouble for Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi, former chief of CWG Organizing Committee (OC).
There will be tough times ahead of UPA as CWG scam is once again set to rock the government during the budget session in March.
CVC is finalising a report, which includes the names and details of public officials and private contractors involved in committing ‘irregularities’ causing several crores of loss to the public exchequer.
Sources reveal that the report will be different from the CAG audit report and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-appointed Shunglu Committee report. The CVC has probed about 71 projects to fix responsibility of the public officials involved.
Majority of these projects were executed by the Delhi Government’s Public Works Department and the OC. Other agencies’ projects that have been examined are NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Corporation), MCD (Municipal Corporation Department), DDA (Delhi Development Authority) and CPWD (Central Public Works Department).
The commission has found that there was a huge mismanagement in taxes paid by private companies involved in CWG projects, especially by foreign firms.
