After the 6th straight day of the adjournment of the Parliamen, BJP MP from Pilibhit Varun Gandhi reacted strongly on Twitter.
He tweeted, “Good news about the govt accepting united opposition’s demand of adjournment motion in Parliament. 6th straight day of no work. Current Lok Sabha has had fewest working hours since 1985. Time has indeed come for ‘no work, no pay’ for MPs if minimum hours of business not transacted. I feel silly, getting paid to sit around, drink coffee in Central Hall.”
Meanwhile, Both houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day after they resumed sitting Tuesday amid protests over the foreign direct investment (FDI) in the retail sector.
There is also a buzz among Indians and media that if MPs don’t work, they shouldn’t be paid. Varun Gandhi openly supported this move on Twitter.
