Jaipur: According to reports, the sarpanch of Budania village of Rajasthan has decide to fight for the noble cause of saving the girl child.And now, Aamir Khan is giving inspirations to many with his highly acclaimed television show Satyamev Jayate. Having encouraged the governments of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh to fight against female foeticide, the show has now inspired a village sarpanch of Rajasthan to act against the menace.
Call it the impact of Aamir’s show that the sarpanch Randheer Singh was motivated to form a six-member committee to keep a tab on pregnant women. “An FIR will be filed against the woman, found involved in illegal sex determination and abortion of a girl child in the village. A similar action will be taken against those forcing any female to abort the girl child,” he said in an interview.
The village, some 200 km from Jaipur, is home to some 5,000 people.
The move comes three weeks after Bollywood actor Aamir Khan raised the issue of female foeticide in his TV debut Satyamev Jayate.
“After watching Aamir Khan’s TV show Satyameva Jayateon female foeticide, I felt that awareness in Rajasthan is not enough,” he said.
Aamir Khan’s TV show Satyamev Jayate hasn’t limited itself to entertainment only but has motivated the governments of Rajasthan and Maharashtra to take measures to stop the malpractice.
