1920: 1920 released in 2008, is the best horror movie according to me. This film was written and directed by Vikram Bhatt. Filmed in Hindi, the film revolves around the events surrounding a married couple living in a haunted house in the year 1920. The film stars debutant actors Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma as the married couple. Its some scenes are really horrific if watched alone.
Bhoot: Bhoot is a Bollywood film released in 2003. It really deserves to be at second spot because of its mind-blowing music which really creates terror in our heart. It was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and stars Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgan. It was perceived to be different from a typical Bollywood movie as it did not contain songs. The film did good business at the box office.
Darna Mana Hai: Darna Mana Hai is at no.3, released on 25 July 2003. It was considered a unique and innovative attempt by (joint) producer Ram Gopal Varma and director Prawal Raman to provide Indian audiences with an anthology horror film which consists of six different short stories. This concept was inspired from the popular Canadian TV-series Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Tales from the Crypt. It stars a host of Bollywood celebrities including Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Shilpa Shetty, Sameera Reddy, Isha Koppikar, Nana Patekar, Sohail Khan, and more.
Raat: Raat is a 1992 Indian supernatural thriller written, produced and directed by Ram Gopal Varma starring Revathi in the role of protagonist Manisha (Mini) Sharma. It should be considered as first really horror movie in India which created some amount of fear in our heart and mind.
Darna Zaroori Hai: Means, being scared is necessary. It is a 2006 Indian portmanteau film produced by Ram Gopal Varma, in which an old lady tells six scary stories to a group of five children. Each sub-film depicts one of these stories. Nisha Kothari and Mohit Ahlawat make special appearances in songs. It is quite similar to Darna Mana Hai
