Jaspal died in a road accident near Shahkot in Punjab on Thursday morning. As reports suggest, he was on his way to Nakador from Bhatinda. His car hit a trolley while he was travelling for promotion of his next film ‘Power Cut’ which is going to be released on 26th Oct 2012, sources said.
Despite the fact that the Internet and small screen offer us an overabundance of options when it comes to funny TV shows, Jaspal Bhatti’s “Flop Show” continues to remain special.
Sitcom “Flop Show” was first aired on Doordarshan in 1989.
Besides writing and directing the show, Jaspal Bhatti also played the main character in the show. His wife Savita Bhatti, who produced the show, essayed the role of his wife.
Housewife Kamini Kapoor, who still watches the show on youtube says, “Nothing has ever been created like ‘Flop Show’ till now, It earned massive popularity because of its content. Commoners could relate to the show. Jaspal’s shows spoke volumes of his creativity.”
MBA aspirant Kunal Gupta admits he gre up watching the show. “I watched it because it was relevant and interesting. His shows were never pointless, much like what we get to see today. I’m shocked to hear about his demise. It is a huge loss for the showbiz industry.”
Today, Bhatti’s son and actress of his upcoming film also got injured in the mishap. Both the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
Noteworthy, Jaspal Bhatti’s son Jasraj is making his debut through ‘Power Cut’ scheduled to be released on Friday, 26th Oct.
