Micromax Canvas Knight
Micromax had recently launched its first octa core processor based smartphone, called as Micromax Canvas Knight, in India for Rs 19,999. The highlight of the phone is its design – it comes with a glass back panel which is makes truly an eye-candy.
The Micromax Canvas Knight comes with the Mediatek MT6592T True Octa core platform. To assist the processor there is 2 GB RAM and Mali 450 MP GPU in the phone. It is based on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The Micromax Canvas Knight has a 5 inch full HD IPS LCD display.
The Canvas Knight is armed with 32 GB internal storage but it does not have expandable storage facility. Moreover, the phone has 16 megapixel rear camera, an LED flash light, and a 8 megapixel front camera. To power the device there is a 2350 mAh non-removable battery
Motorola Moto G (16 GB)
The Motorola Moto G, which was launched in India earlier this month for Rs 13,999, comes with replaceable and colourful back panels. It flaunts a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution which means this display has 326 pixels per inch pixel density. The display has been constructed using the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which provides some protection against the normal wear and tear.
The Moto G is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 mobile chipset, Adreno 305 GPU, and 1 GB RAM. Motorla Moto G measures 11.6 mm thick and weighs 143 grams. Note that Moto G does not have a memory card slot. Currently, it has Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system but Motorola has assured Android KitKat update for the phone within a week.
At the rear, Moto G packs 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash along with imaging features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face-detection, panorama and HDR. Xolo Q1100 Android smartphone is available for Rs 14,999. This Xolo smartphone comes with Snapdragon 400 quad core chipset – the same processor which is also being used Motorola Moto G and the popular Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.
The Xolo Q1100 has a 5 inch HD IPS display with One Glass Solution (OGS) display technology. It runs on Android v4.3 and is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU and Adreno 305 graphics engine with 450 MHz clock speed. Xolo Q1100 has a 2000 mAh battery which claims to provide upto 600 hours and upto 450 hours of standby on 2G and 3G network respectively. The talk time is 24 hours on 2G and 12.5 hours on 3G, claims Xolo. The phone is available only in black colour.
Notably, Xolo is perhaps the only Indian manufacturer which has so far launched smartphones based on Intel, Snapdragon, Mediatek, and even Nvidia Tegra processors.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo is available in India for Rs 18,450. The phone has a 5 inch display touchscreen but with 480×800 pixel resolution only. The handset has a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. It comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
The Grand Neo comes in 8 GB internal storage versions and has a 64 GB micro SD card slot. The phone has a 5 megapixel auto focus camera and an LED flash at the rear while a VGA camera is in the front.
The 9.6 mm thick smartphone (143.7 x 77.1 x 9.6mm) weighs 163 grams. It has a decent looking 2100 mAh battery which claims to provide 11 hours of 3G talktime. It has Accelerometer, Compass, and Proximity sensors. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo has WiFi with WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, Kies, and micro USB support. It has also GPS with GLONASS support for navigation.
