Harvard Crimson reports

“Although Harvard chose to stand by Swamy in August in an effort to affirm its declared commitment to free speech, faculty members shot down his two courses, effectively removing him from Harvard’s teaching roster”

Some members of the facuallity commented as follows

Swamy’s article was not a product of free speech—but of hate speech.

Swamy’s position on disenfranchisement] is like saying Jewish Americans and African Americans should not be allowed to vote unless they acknowledge the supremacy of white Anglo Saxon Protestants,” said History Professor Sugata Bose.

In effect we will have to conclude that the liberals and left wing students succeeded in misinforming the Harvard member, and it is evident from the comments made by the members. When the History professor compared Swamy’s comment that “Indian muslims should acknowledge their hindu roots” with  the sentence “Jewish Americans and African Americans should not be allowed to vote unless they acknowledge the supremacy of white Anglo Saxon Protestants”, it clearly shows he is either misinformed, or is ignorant about Indian history and religions.

First thing, Hindutva or Hindus are not like Anglo Saxon Protestants of America, neither Hindus clame supermacy. It is an accepted fact that the muslims of India were actually Hindus who believed in pluralism, before they were converted during the mughal and islamic rule. So Swamy’s point was muslims should accept the obvious fact that their ancestors are Hindus. Swamy never asked muslims to acknowledge supermacy of Hindus.

Swamy sentence can be compared to this sentence, ” American muslims should first accept they are americans first, and then muslims”.
