New Delhi, May 24 (ANI): On today evening, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presided over a meeting of the Union Cabinet. During the meeting, several issues came up for discussion. They reportedly included the Prime Minister’s upcoming three-day bilateral visit to Myanmar from May 27and a decision to defer discussion on the National Telecom Policy (NTP), besides other issues.

But they ignored the controversial slashing of petrol price s in the Cabinet meeting.

However, ministers representing key allies of the government such as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagham (DMK) were conspicuous by their absence.

Media reports suggested that the issue did not come up for discussion as Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister S. Jaipal Reddy was out of the country. (ANI)
