With speculation about a move to make Rahul Gandhi the working president of the Congress party, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said that if he was given any other responsibility, he will welcome it. “It’s a question of the party. I have requested him many a time to come to cabinet meetings,” PM told reporters on board his special aircraft while returning from the SAARC summit held in the Maldives. “If Rahul is given a larger responsibility, I will welcome it,” Manmohan Singh said.

Differences not uncommon in coalitions: Manmohan Singh

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday said differences among alliance partners in a coalition are not uncommon but governance was not an issue in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. He said his government was smoothly carrying out the mandate given by the people. “The real test is that we see that these differences do not undermine the cohesiveness of the government,” the prime minister told the media delegation that had accompanied him to Pretoria for the India-Brazil-South Africa Summit. “Well we are a coalition government […]

PM must intervene and ask Delhi Police to withdraw FIR against me: Dr. Subramanian Swamy

Janata Party President Dr. Subramanian Swamy criticized the act of Crime Branch and said, “this act has lowered the reputation of Government. He also blamed Chidambaram for this FIR registered against him. The FIR has been registered 2 1/2 months after my alleged inflammatory article was published in the Mumbai daily, The DNA. Since then 3 Police Stations have declined to register the FIR since no offence could be discerned. Hence the Crime Branch’s act is obviously a command performance that has lowered the reputation […]

IIT Kharagpur student refuses to accept his final year B.Tech degree from Manmohan Singh. He said, “He was hurt with the government response”. That might be very discouraging for the government. He is encouraging more students to join his protest and if this happens, it would be very embarrassing for Manmohan Singh. You can also follow […]

The social activist Anna Hazare is very disappointed with Indian PM Manmohan Singh. He said, “Earlier Manmohan Singh was ready to come under Lokpal Bill then why a u-turn now”? Till now, the people of the country and me too felt that we have an honest and non-corrupt Prime Minister,” Hazare said. This was Hazare’s response  to a u-turn of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Earlier, Manmohan Singh was agree to come under […]

Anna Hazare on Tuesday said PM Manmohan Singh has kept mum because “there is a remote control on him”. Hazare reiterated that he will not compromise on the five points in the Lokpal bill, including bringing the Prime Minister and all government officials, the CBI and the vigilance commission under the purview of Lokpal. On Sonia Gandhi snubbing him with a terse reply to his letter, which objected to the campaign launched against him by some Congress leaders, and her reference to Hazare making the […]
