The UAE and Saudi Arabia have been named among the world’s top 10 developing retail markets, according to AT Kearney’s 2016 Global Retail Development Index (GRDI). The UAE, led by Dubai, was ranked seventh in the list and remains an attractive and relatively low-risk market for retailers, with highest sales per capita in the region, said AT Kearney. The UAE ranked as the world’s largest donor of foreign aid in 2014, proportionately to its national income according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The Gulf state donated more than $4.9 billion in development aid – accounting for 1.17 percent of its national income.
